An excellent piece. In a world that’s mired in rationalism and materialism we need constant reminders that there are other planes of reality.

It is writing like this and some others on Substack that will help break people out of the “hex” of modernity in which they are enmeshed. Thank you!

P.s. Also reminds me to dust off my W.B. Yeats….

Oh yes 👍 there are so many fantastic Yeats poems - The Gyres, Lapis Lazuli, The Statues, Under Ben Bulben, the list goes on. I'm a huge fan of Eliot and David Jones as well but when it comes to twentieth-century poets it's Yeats for me who hits home hardest. Tremendous spiritual and imaginative - and yes, magical - resonance in his work. They get under your skin, his poems do, and they change and transform your life, over time, from the inside out.

The scythe wielding god often pays me a visit leaving me melancholy and despairing about the

(seeming) mundanity of life. This little article helped a lot.

Thank you, my friend.

Thank you very much👍 It’s why I write. To do just that. But to be honest I’d rather it not be ‘me’ that writes, but rather the Great Tradition that articulates itself through me. That indeed would be an honour and a homecoming.

Keep up the good work yourself 💪
